David Reed, Chairman of CIBC Eyres Reed will be speaking on "The Gold
Mining Industry in WA: Past, Present and Future". Refreshments will

Share Trading [UP]
Last month's talk was an entertaining success!! If you missed that talk, we have
another excellent talk lined up. For the October 15th, Bryan Bourke, Sales
Executive for DayTraderHQ will introduce you to online share trading. The
meeting is to be held at Leederville TAFE. For a flyer with more details

MANAGEMENT AT A TIME OF REDUCED INCOME"
. To be presented by Patrick Horneman & John Robertson (Senior Financial
Planners with Saw James Capel Ltd). The presentation will discuss the options
available for managing personal finances at times of reduced incomes and the
measures that can be taken to minimise the impact of reduced incomes in future

More details on the meeting between AMEC and AGSEAN on

positions within bodies like AGSO, to help retain geological

AGSEAN RALLY [UP]
A successful rally was held in May. Was reported on Channel
Ten. We made it to the front cover of "Australia's Mining
Monthly", June 1999 edition. Summary of cover story and

Date: 28/9/99 to 15/10/99. This is the third time the course is on.
Cost: $65. Highly subsidised for unemployed geologist (50% discount) $39.50
A public speaking course on how to conduct yourself is being
organised. You will be given tips on how to succeed at job
interviews and how to address politicians. Please give us a head
count by sending an email to the course
co-ordinator. Costs about $100 for one night/week over 6
weeks. At least 10 people to proceed with the course. This course is on hold
pending sufficient numbers and instructor coming back from overseas.
MINIMUM PAYS FOR GEOLOGISTS [UP]
